Measures 7x14" including frame. It's a page from The Tall Book of Nursery Tales, published in 1944. This particular illustration is a vivid and beautiful forest scene from the story of Little Red Riding Hood. A protective coating of varnish is painted over the illustraion giving it a look of a canvas rather than paper. The frame is refurbished and given a protective coat of varnish. Inspiration behind the art: isn't there something special about vintage children's books that has the power to take the reader back in time? I found this particular illustration to be so colorful and imaginative that it was definitely frameworthy!
