This measures 8.5x10.5" including the frame. It's an oil painting on mat board in a refurbished and gilded frame. All hand-done with care by Tiffiny Shults.
Story behind the painting: a favorite pair of visitors to our yard are the downy woodpeckers who my kids have affectionately named Mr. and Mrs. Peck. Downy woodpeckers can be found throughout the state of Utah and are the smallest of their species at around 6" in length. This would make the subject of the painting approximately life size. Males have a small patch of red on the back of their head while females do not. Though we don't see them often, they always come as a pair and we love to watch them hard at work hunting bugs on tree branches.
