We’ve got big news. And by big we mean substantial, and made of wood, and ready-to-hang. Menu and Meat Co., our new prints by L.A. artist Sean Finocchio, are printed directly onto wood panels, which are then cleverly mounted onto a smaller rear panel that is fitted with a keyhole hanging slot! Using his original photos of signs, menus and other food-world ephemera in the City of Angels, Finocchio combines compelling imagery with the warmth and rustic charm of wood.
Each sturdy panel sits just of the wall, creating a shadowed, floating effect. The graphic, black silkscreened images of butcher and bodega signs contrast with the natural variations of sanded wood grain, and are sealed with a UV matte finish. These panels are perfect for the kitchen, dining room, or anywhere you want to conjure up an eclectic L.A. vibe, and the bold black-on-wood aesthetic works as well on colored walls as on white. We love ‘em.
Sean Finocchio grew up in the South but has been living and working in L.A. for about 15 years. He is constantly inspired by living in Los Angeles, and the photographs he takes as part of his daily routine are the proof. When he’s not working on new ways to transpose his photographs onto new mediums and create new forms, he enjoys good pizza with his wife Celeste and their chihuahua Buddie.
