“I wanted to include apple pie on the tea towels, since it’s one of my favorite parts of the holidays. (It is always so difficult to decide which I like more–apple pie or apple crisp?) The apple pie theme immediately reminded me of this Carl Sagan quote from The Cosmos: “If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch you must first invent the universe.” I loved the idea of bringing such a huge and cosmic idea to a simple kitchen towel.”
